Cool Breeze Scoop(TM)
Scoop installed on a NB / NC
Bill @ MOAB III w/ "The Silver Bullet"
Scoop on a PRHT

The Cool Breeze Scoop(TM) is non-obtrusive and is an easy on / easy off accessory, not a car modification. It is like putting on a pair of sun glasses, it's a personal accessory to keep you cool. It does not interfere with the mirror or visibility. It is hardly even noticeable when it's being used, most say it gives the car a racy edge look of a F1 scoop. It is small enough to be easily stored in your glove box and installed in seconds from the drivers seat inside the car.
The Cool Breeze Scoop(TM) is manufactured to automotive standards. The size and dimensions were designed to give you an air flow that will cool, but not make you feel like you're sitting in a wind storm at 70 MPH. The air flow is progressive as it is scavenged from above the windshield. You'll begin to feel the air flow at 10 MPH. The Scoop includes a Bug Screen Retaining Rod and Diverting wedge.
The Cool Breeze Scoop(TM) does not require permanent installation. ( On / Off in 10 seconds ) from the drivers seat. The retaining rod drops into the groove in the gasket of the windshield header. On your first use, you will stick two 3M Dual Lock (TM) adhesive disks on the windshield header trim piece inside and they will remain there to attach the scoop anytime you wish to use it. The disks can be peeled off anytime with no holes or damage.
The Cool Breeze Scoop(TM) can be traded-in if you trade models.
The Cool Breeze Scoop(TM) is molded from an automotive ABS / Polycarbonate composite plastic. It is non-reflective Black with a textured finish. It can be primed and painted in a color of your choice with flexible bumper paint, but looks great the way it is delivered.
Use Air Conditioning ?? The Cool Breeze Scoop(TM) works in conjunction with the A/C to give you even more cooling by distributing it into the lower part of the cockpit. As the incoming air flow passes the center vents it picks up the flow from them and carries it into the foot wells and your lower body.
The Cool Breeze Scoop (TM) is US Patented # 7,481,177

Short Installation Instructions
- Lube Gasket Groove. ( Silicone Lube, 303 or Armor- All )

- From the drivers seat, spread the gasket with your fingers, drop the rod to the bottom of the gasket groove and rotate the scoop into position.

- To remove scoop, Twist out on the wings and rotate scoop up.
Installation Instructions for NA / NB Miata
To install the Scoop, first you should lube the gasket ( 8-10 “ in the Middle ). Any silicone lube is ok, Armor-All, 303 etc. is fine, liquid dish detergent will also work. This will allow the rod to slide into the gasket groove easily.
From the Drivers Seat, Center the scoop on the header. Set the rod over the gap in the gasket, Take your fingers ( both hands ) and insert them in the gasket groove at the tips of the rod on both sides to spread the gasket and roll it back toward you. Take your index fingers and apply a downward pressure on the rod tips so the rod will enter the gasket and go all the way to the bottom. A somewhat side to side movement of the rod and a rocking motion will help it slide into the groove. Once the rod is in the groove the scoop will slide back and forth very easily, it is important it seats to the bottom of the groove the whole length
of the retaining rod. You can take your finger tips and feel the ends of the retaining rod are on the bottom of the gasket groove. Now pull the Scoop down to and under the trim piece, make sure the Scoop is centered and is touching the gasket on the sides, not too far in or the air will be hitting to far up on the dash. On the first install, you are going to install the Dual Lock (tm) disks to the header trim piece.

Notice: !!!!
If you have used Armorall (tm) or any type of a silicone treatment on your trim piece you must clean it off the area where the disk will stick. Windex or a bathroom cleaner will remove it. The Dual Lock(tm)disk will not stick if it is left on. The cleaner it is the better it will stick. It will not stick well below 68 degs, sit the car outside and let it warm up some. A hair dryer can also be used to warm the area where it will stick.
When you have selected the centered position, you will be able to see where the Dual Lock (tm) disk will be stuck to the trim piece. Take the alcohol swap and wipe the area where the disk will be stuck. The swab will remove any wax or silicone treatment you have used on the trim piece. This will give the disk better adhesion. Make sure it's dry. Remove the backing from the disk. Once you're happy with it's position, you can allow the disk stick to the trim. Do Not touch or allow the adhesive to rub against the header or the tack will dull and it will not stick. The disk cannot be repositioned. Use a even upward pressure on the pads to allow the Disk’s to stick.
They will be left there permanently and will be used each time you install the Scoop and holds the Scoop in place. Push in on the attaching pads so that it will stick to the trim piece. That's all there is to the installation.
To remove the Scoop, twist out on the bottom edge of the wings the pads are attached to,so the Dual Lock (tm) will release . After the pads release, gently pull up and the retaining rod will release from the gasket groove.
This first time, take your thumb and push up and rub the disk and make sure it is sticking to the trim header piece. (Pressing the disk will activate the adhesive, it has micro-encapsulated adhesive that will set up in 72 hrs. to reach full strength, but can be used at once.)
You're now ready to use the Scoop anytime you like. From the Drivers Seat, Center the scoop on the header. Take your middle fingers and insert them in the gasket groove at the tips of the rod on both sides to spread the gasket. Take your index fingers and apply a downward pressure on the rod tips so the rod will enter the gasket make sure it seats all the way to the bottom and slide it to the center and pull down on the bottom and push on the Dual Lock(tm) Pads to engage, you will feel a tactile snap as the heads engage and you're good to go. Always do a pull check and make sure that the Scoop is attached firmly and the retaining rod is in the bottom of the groove, taking your finger tips and touching the ends of the rod you will feel that it is all the way to the bottom of the groove. Once you are familiar with the installation and removal, you can accomplish it in 5-10 seconds from the drivers seat. A little silicone lube rubbed on the rod and gasket will aid the insertation of the retaining rod if it's hard to get in.
Pull Check !!!
We have included extra Dual Lock (tm) disks so you can use the Scoop in another car or replace the ones you use, should they become worn.
